Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to be sharing my creative journey with you in my very first blog post. Let me introduce myself!
My name is Fiona. I’m an illustrator, calligrapher, maker and small business owner. My passion for creating has taken me on a wonderful and rewarding journey. In my blog, I’ll be sharing the challenges and triumphs, the joy and struggles of pursuing my creative dreams and building my own small business making stickers, tags, greeting cards and calligraphed place cards. So grab a cup of tea and let's dive into my story!
My creative journey started with my love for art and a (shy) desire to share my creations with others. I began as a hobbyist, creating illustrations and calligraphy pieces in my spare time. Encouraged by my-then-boyfriend-now-husband and friends, I decided to turn my passion into a business. With dedication and perseverance (and a lot of trial and error!), I slowly built my small business from a scratch.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was finding an audience and being comfortable with sharing my work. Until today, that is still a muscle I’m honing. It’s a lesson I’ve been learning and re-learning, to BELIEVE IN MYSELF. When my customers give me positive feedback and share their joy with me - I feel this glow light up within me knowing my products was bringing happiness to others, and that fuelled my determination to continue pursuing my creative dreams.
Looking ahead, I have big dreams and aspirations for my small business. I plan to expand my line of products, explore new styles, push my creative boundaries and share my work. I am committed to continuous learning and investing in my artistic skills and business knowledge.
